What did I miss, explained wrong / incomplete etc.? Please let me know.Īnd finally, as you might be unfamiliar with some of the licensing facts involved, this chapter will potentially provide you with some useful information, insights and nice to knows. Secondly, since licensing can be complex I would like to ask you for some help by not only giving this ‘chapter’ a read through but also to do some technical ‘fact checking’ at the same time helping me to improve the overall quality of Inside Citrix. First of all I want to sort of give you a sneak peak into my upcoming book: Inside Citrix – The FlexCast Management Architecture. The reason for this blogpost is threefold. Throughout this chapter I will focus on the different types of Citrix licenses available, how they get applied from a XenApp / XenDesktop perspective and what other types of (Microsoft) licenses we need to take into consideration, like RDS, VDA (and no, this is not the Citrix VDA), CDL etc. Licensing can be complicated, not only do we need to consider XenApp and/or XenDesktop licenses we also have to deal with Microsoft licensing, if we like or not.
